Elegant Crab and Shrimp Stuffed Salmon
Experience a burst of flavor with this exquisite stuffed salmon that’s as delightful to eat as it is to present! Perfect for elevating any dinner table.
Ingredients:
– 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each), skinless
– 1/2 cup lump crab meat
– 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
– 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
– 1/2 cup cooked shrimp, chopped
– 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
– 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
– 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1/2 teaspoon paprika
– 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
– 1 tablespoon olive oil
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
– Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions:
1. Start by preparing the stuffing. In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped shrimp, lump crab meat, softened cream cheese, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, paprika, chopped parsley, and season with salt and pepper. Stir until all the ingredients are well blended and set aside.
2. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). While it’s heating, prepare the salmon fillets. Carefully cut a pocket into the center of each fillet, ensuring you don’t cut all the way through. Once the pockets are ready, season both sides of the salmon with salt and pepper.
3. Now, it’s time to stuff the salmon! Evenly distribute the crab and shrimp mixture into the salmon pockets. If you find that the filling spills over, you can use toothpicks to secure the edges gently.
4. Heat the olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the stuffed salmon fillets to the pan. Sear each side for about 2-3 minutes until they are lightly browned and crispy.
5. After searing, carefully transfer the skillet to your preheated oven. Bake the salmon for approximately 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and the stuffing is warmed to perfection.
6. Once done, remove the skillet from the oven. Plate the salmon and add fresh lemon wedges on the side for a zesty finish. This dish is excellent with sides like steamed asparagus or wild rice.
