For the Shrimp:
1/2 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined 🍤
1 tbsp butter 🧈
2 cloves garlic, minced 🧄
Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Cheddar Sauce:
2 tbsp butter 🧈
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 cup whole milk 🥛
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese 🧀
1/4 tsp paprika 🌶️
Salt and pepper, to taste
Garnish:
Fresh parsley, chopped 🌿
Instructions:
1️⃣ Cook the Steaks:
Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.
Rub the steaks with olive oil and season generously with salt and black pepper.
Sear the steaks for 3–4 minutes per side (for medium-rare) or until your desired doneness.
Remove from the skillet, cover with foil, and let rest.
2️⃣ Cook the Shrimp:
In the same skillet, melt 1 tbsp butter over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
Toss in the shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
3️⃣ Make the Cheddar Sauce:
In a small saucepan, melt 2 tbsp butter over medium heat.
Whisk in the flour and cook for 1–2 minutes, stirring constantly, until golden.
Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring until smooth and slightly thickened (about 3 minutes).
Reduce heat to low and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
Add paprika, salt, and pepper to taste.
4️⃣ Assemble:
Place the rested steak on a plate.
Top each steak with a few cooked shrimp.
Generously drizzle the creamy cheddar sauce over the steak and shrimp.
5️⃣ Garnish and Serve:
Sprinkle with fresh parsley for garnish.
Serve immediately with sides like mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or crusty bread.
