Broccoli with Garlic Sauce
Ingredients:
1 head of broccoli, cut into florets
2-3 cloves of garlic, minced
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
1 tablespoon of soy sauce
1 tablespoon of oyster sauce (optional)
1 teaspoon of sesame oil
1 teaspoon of cornstarch
2 tablespoons of water
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Blanch the broccoli: Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the broccoli florets and cook for 2-3 minutes until they are bright green and slightly tender. Drain the broccoli and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process.
Make the sauce: In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), sesame oil, cornstarch, and water. Mix well until the cornstarch is fully dissolved.
Sauté the garlic: Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
Add the broccoli: Add the blanched broccoli to the skillet and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes.
Pour in the sauce: Pour the sauce mixture over the broccoli and stir well to coat evenly. Cook for another 1-2 minutes, or until the sauce thickens and the broccoli is heated through.
Season to taste: Add salt and pepper to taste.
Serve: Transfer the broccoli with garlic sauce to a serving dish and enjoy!
