Mexican Restaurant Cheese Dip

Mexican Restaurant Cheese Dip
Ingredients:
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp ground cumin
1 lb white American cheese, shredded or cubed
1/2 cup whole milk (add more for desired consistency)
1/4 cup heavy cream
1 4-oz can green chilies, diced
1-2 jalapeños, finely diced (optional, for extra heat)
Fresh cilantro, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Directions:
Melt the Cheese: In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the shredded or cubed white American cheese, milk, and heavy cream. Stir constantly to prevent the cheese from sticking or burning.
Add Flavorings: Once the cheese is melted and smooth, stir in the diced green chilies, garlic powder, onion powder, and ground cumin. Mix well to evenly distribute the flavors.
Adjust Consistency: If the dip is too thick, add more milk a tablespoon at a time until it reaches your desired consistency.
Optional Heat: For a spicier dip, stir in the finely diced jalapeños. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
Serve: Transfer the cheese dip to a serving bowl. Garnish with fresh cilantro if desired.
Keep Warm: To keep the dip warm and smooth, use a small slow cooker or fondue pot.
Serve with warm tortilla chips, fresh veggies, or drizzle over your favorite Mexican dishes like nachos, tacos, or burritos. Enjoy the creamy goodness! 🌮🧀
