BBQ Bacon-Wrapped Mozzarella Sticks
Ingredients:
12 slices bacon
12 sticks mozzarella cheese
1 cup breadcrumbs
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
Cooking oil, for frying
Directions:
1. Wrap each mozzarella stick with a slice of bacon, securing the ends with toothpicks.
2. In one bowl, whisk the eggs. In another bowl, mix the breadcrumbs, flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
3. Dip each bacon-wrapped mozzarella stick into the egg, then coat it with the breadcrumb mixture.
4. Repeat the egg and breadcrumb coating for a thicker crust, if desired.
5. Heat cooking oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
6. Fry the coated mozzarella sticks until golden brown, about 2–3 minutes per side.
7. Remove from the oil and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
8. Let them cool slightly before serving.
Notes:
– For a healthier option, bake the bacon mozzarella sticks in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 15–20 minutes.
– Serve with marinara sauce or ranch dressing for dipping.
