Ingredients:
Beef Marinade:
1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tsp cornstarch
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp sugar
Vegetables and Aromatics:
1 medium red onion, cut into chunks
2-3 red chilies, sliced
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 thumb-sized piece of ginger, julienned
2 tbsp vegetable oil
Sauce:
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tsp dark soy sauce
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
Instructions:
Marinate the Beef:
In a bowl, combine beef slices with soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, and sugar.
Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
Prepare the Sauce:
Mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, dark soy sauce, sugar, and cornstarch slurry in a small bowl. Set aside.
Cook the Beef:
Heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in a skillet or wok over high heat.
Stir-fry the beef in batches for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
Stir-Fry the Aromatics:
Add the remaining oil to the skillet.
Stir-fry garlic, ginger, and chilies for 1 minute until fragrant.
Add Onions and Sauce:
Add the red onion chunks and cook for 2 minutes until slightly softened.
Return the beef to the skillet and pour in the sauce. Toss well to coat and cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Serve Hot:
Garnish with extra chili slices if desired.
Serve immediately with steamed jasmine rice or noodles.
