• 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
• 1 onion (diced)
• 3 garlic cloves (minced)
• 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
• 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes (drained)
• 1 tsp dried basil
• 1 tsp dried oregano
• 9 uncooked lasagna noodles
• 1 ½ cups ricotta cheese
• 1 egg
• 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
• ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
• Salt & pepper to taste
• Fresh basil or parsley (optional garnish) Steps:
Brown meat with onion in a skillet, then add garlic and cook for 1 minute. Stir in marinara, tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Mix ricotta, egg, 1 cup mozzarella, and ¼ cup Parmesan in a bowl.
Grease slow cooker. Layer meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mix, and more sauce, repeating for 3 layers.
Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
Cook on low for 4-5 hours until noodles are tender and cheese is bubbly.
Let sit 10 minutes before serving and garnish with basil or parsley.
