Vanilla Buttermilk Pound Cake with Cream Cheese Glaze
Ingredients:
For the Cake:
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
2 ½ cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 cup buttermilk
1 tbsp vanilla extract
For the Cream Cheese Glaze:
4 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tbsp milk (adjust for consistency)
½ tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C) and grease a bundt or loaf pan.
2. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
4. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with buttermilk.
6. Mix in vanilla extract until smooth.
7. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 60–70 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
8. Let the cake cool completely before adding the glaze.
9. For the glaze, beat cream cheese until smooth, then mix in powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until creamy.
10. Drizzle over the cooled cake and serve.
