Cheesy Beef and Bowtie Pasta in Garlic Butter
Ingredients
12 oz (340g) bowtie pasta (farfalle)
1 lb (450g) ground beef (or ground turkey/plant-based crumbles)
4 tbsp unsalted butter
5 garlic cloves, minced
1 small onion, diced
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp Italian seasoning
½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
1 ½ cups beef or vegetable broth
½ cup heavy cream (or half-and-half for lighter sauce)
1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt & pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
1. Cook the pasta:
Boil bowtie pasta in salted water until al dente. Reserve **½ cup pasta water**, then drain.
2. Brown the beef:
In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium-high heat until browned. Drain excess fat and set aside.
3. Make the garlic butter sauce:
In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté onion until soft (3-4 minutes). Add minced garlic and cook 1 minute until fragrant.
Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes.
4. Build the dish:
Pour in broth and heavy cream. Simmer 3-4 minutes to reduce slightly.
Add cooked pasta, beef, mozzarella, and Parmesan. Toss until cheese melts and sauce coats everything. Add pasta water as needed for creaminess.
5. Serve:
Garnish with parsley and extra Parmesan.
