Fried Cabbage with Bacon, Onion, and Garlic – Don’t LOSE this Recipe

Ingredients:
6 slices of bacon, chopped
1 large onion, thinly sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 medium head of cabbage, cored and roughly chopped
1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
1/2 teaspoon black pepper (adjust to taste)
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional, for extra flavor)
1 tablespoon butter (optional, for richness)
Procedure:
Cook the Bacon:
Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the chopped bacon.
Cook the bacon until it’s crispy, stirring occasionally.
Remove the bacon pieces with a slotted spoon and set aside, leaving the bacon grease in the pan.
Sauté the Onion and Garlic:
Add the sliced onion to the skillet with the bacon grease. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until it softens.
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds to 1 minute until fragrant.
Add the Cabbage:
Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet.
Toss to coat it in the bacon grease and mix it with the onions and garlic.
Season and Cook:
Sprinkle the cabbage with salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika (if using).
Stir well and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for 10-12 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender and slightly caramelized.
Finish with Bacon and Butter:
Stir the cooked bacon pieces back into the cabbage.
For extra richness, add a tablespoon of butter and let it melt, mixing it into the dish.
Serve:
Transfer the fried cabbage to a serving dish and enjoy it as a side dish or a light main course.
