Metabolized Pizza Buns with Cheese and Pepperoni

Transform ordinary pizza flavors into easy-to-eat, cheesy pizza buns! These are perfect for a snack, party appetizer, or quick lunch.
Ingredients
For the Buns:
6 soft dinner rolls or burger buns
1 cup pizza sauce
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
18 slices of pepperoni (or more, if desired)
Optional: Fresh basil leaves or Italian seasoning for garnish
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Prepare the Buns:
Place the buns on the prepared baking sheet. If using larger rolls, slice them in half horizontally. For smaller dinner rolls, keep them whole.
3. Add Pizza Sauce:
Spoon a generous amount of pizza sauce onto the top of each bun. Spread it evenly.
4. Top with Cheese:
Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce. Add a small handful of Parmesan for extra flavor.
5. Add Pepperoni:
Place 2-3 slices of pepperoni on top of each bun, or enough to cover the cheese.
6. Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges of the buns are lightly toasted.
7. Garnish & Serve:
Sprinkle with Italian seasoning or fresh basil if desired. Serve hot with extra pizza sauce on the side for dipping.
Tips:
Swap pepperoni for other toppings like cooked sausage, bell peppers, or mushrooms.
Use garlic butter to brush the buns for extra flavor before adding the sauce.
For a crispier base, lightly toast the buns before assembling.
