Sticky Honey Garlic Sausage Pasta Skillet
Ingredients:
For the Sausage & Pasta:
• 1 lb smoked sausage (sliced)
• 8 oz pasta (spaghetti , rigatoni or penne)
• 1 tbsp olive oil
• 2 cups chicken broth
• 1/2 cup heavy cream
For the Honey Garlic Sauce:
• 1/3 cup honey
• 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium)
• 3 cloves garlic (minced)
• 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
• 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
• 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (to thicken)
For Garnish:
• 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
• Chopped parsley or basil
• Extra red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the Sausage:
◦ Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
◦ Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned (5-7 minutes). Remove and set aside.
2. Prepare the Honey Garlic Sauce:
◦ In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes.
3. Cook the Pasta:
◦ In the same skillet, add chicken broth and heavy cream.
◦ Stir in pasta, bring to a boil, and let simmer until al dente (10-12 minutes).
4. Thicken the Sauce:
◦ Pour the honey garlic sauce into the skillet.
◦ Stir in the cornstarch slurry and let simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
5. Combine Everything:
◦ Return the cooked sausage to the skillet and toss with the pasta.
◦ Cook for 1-2 minutes, allowing the sauce to fully coat the pasta and sausage.
6. Serve & Enjoy:
◦ Garnish with Parmesan cheese, fresh parsley, and extra red pepper flakes if desired.
