Thai Basil Beef with Rice
Ingredients
1 lb (450g) thinly sliced beef (sirloin or flank steak)
3 garlic cloves, minced
2–3 red chilies, sliced (adjust to taste)
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 teaspoon fish sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
1/4 cup water
1 cup fresh Thai basil leaves
Steamed jasmine rice for serving
Instructions
Prepare the Beef:
Slice the beef thinly against the grain.
Make the Sauce:
In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, sugar, and water. Set aside.
Cook the Beef:
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and sliced chilies, stirring until fragrant. Add the sliced beef and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until browned.
Add the Sauce:
Pour the prepared sauce into the skillet. Stir well to coat the beef evenly and let it simmer for 1–2 minutes.
Add Thai Basil:
Toss in the Thai basil leaves and stir-fry until they wilt, about 30 seconds.
Serve:
Spoon the Thai basil beef over steamed jasmine rice and enjoy hot.
